  • 1 Sep 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, we have been here and we have a dissenting voice. The way this House is going, it is only those who are supporting this Motion that are being given a chance. It means you do not want to hear those who are dissenting. view
  • 1 Sep 2016 in National Assembly: We have already been told that you have a list of those who should not speak because they are dissenting. If that is the case, tell us to leave! Then, you can vote the Motion in without caring about what we want to get from it. view
  • 23 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also want to support the PIC Report. I hope this Report will not go to the archives, but rather action will be taken. We have had very many Reports on corruption and other issues but after tabling them in this House, they just go to the archives. The Committee has done its work but the people who are supposed to implement do not follow-up. view
  • 23 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: The YEDF was formed to provide the young men and women of his country with start-up capital to engage themselves in small businesses. Unfortunately, only a few gentlemen and ladies are benefiting from this money through the back door, leaving the rest of the youth to languish in abject poverty. We should not just be talking about the YEDF. Anybody else who has misappropriated public funds should be jailed and the keys thrown in the Indian Ocean because such people are giving Kenya a bad name. view
  • 23 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Lately, we were been ranked number four in the world corruption index yet not so long ago, we used to be very far from corruption. My fear is on the kind of children we bringing up. If the management of the YEDF is stealing, then you should not expect the youth to repay the loans they have been advanced by the same Fund. They will also default. At the end, the YEDF will not fulfil the purpose for which it has been established. A lot has been said, but I want to ask the PIC to follow-up and ensure that ... view
  • 23 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: This reminds me of when we were talking about the NYS scandal. For some of us in this House, our constituents were sent to harass us for saying the truth. Corruption is not just about those who are charged with responsibilities. All of us should look into our inner selves and find out if we are corrupt or if we are doing what is right. As I support this Motion, I recommend that the culprits in this matter should be jailed the keys to their cells thrown away. That is the absolute bottom line that we can accommodate. view

  • 19 Jul 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, on behalf of Nyeri Town Constituency, I present the following Petition on use of asbestos as roofing material. I, the undersigned, on behalf of concerned residents of Nyeri Town Constituency, draw the attention of the House to the following:- THAT, shelter is one of the basics of human needs as it provides us with a sense of security and a place where we can get the warmth we need, grow old with our loved ones and stay comfortable while enjoying life; THAT, the quality of roofing used in housing is important as it guarantees dwellers protection, good ... view
  • 19 Jul 2016 in National Assembly: THAT, as a result of Mesothelioma Cancer and related illnesses, 55 countries all over the World have banned the use of asbestos as a roofing material, a few of which are USA, New Zealand, Australia and Egypt, with Kenya banning its in 2006; THAT, further, Australia also banned the same in 2003; THAT, the costs associated with treating that cancer, just like any other cancer-related illness, is significantly high especially to the poor populations; and, THAT, the matter in respect of which this Petition is raised is not pending before any court of law or any constitutional body. Therefore, your ... view
  • 19 Jul 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, no wonder we have a high rate of cancer especially within Nyeri. We would want the relevant departments like the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Health to look into this as a matter of urgency. Thank you. view
