  • 21 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, there have been numerous complaints about irregularities. The exercise was marked by bribery and corruption and biased against, particularly young and unemployed Kenyans, who were left out in that exercise. I would like the Minister, in his Statement, to confirm or deny that the process was flawed and, particularly, it was marked by bribery by members of the Provincial Administration. view
  • 21 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Secondly, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Minister to confirm that, if that was the case, what remedial measures have been put in place and whether in some areas like Kiminini Division in my constituency of Trans Nzoia West and Saboti Division, the exercise can actually be nullified and repeated? view
  • 21 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 24 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Hoja ya nidhamu, Bw. Naibu Spika.

I believe from the 1980s, we have heard about consultations and feasibility studies with regard to establishing a fertilizer factory and a bullet factory. The bullet factory was established in Eldoret in 1980s. Up to now, view
  • 23 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker Sir, I beg to ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance the following Question by Private Notice. (a) How many Kenyans have left employment before retirement age and have not been able to access their employers’ contribution due to the regulations made by the Minister for Finance in 2005 to defer payment of the employers’ contribution for employees? (b) Could the Minister state the total amount of employers’ contribution currently withheld, how it is invested and the interest accrued thereon so far? (c) What is the Government doing to ensure that such monies are safe and ... view
  • 23 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I have just returned from the International Labour Organization (ILO) Conference in Geneva on the Jobs Crisis. The Government position was that over 10,000 Kenyans have lost their jobs and have, therefore, left their employment before their retirement age. Apart from that, is the Assistant Minister telling the House that he is not able to establish how many Kenyans have left employment before the retirement age? Is that what he is telling the House? view
  • 23 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I must commend the Assistant Minister for the changes he has made to make retirement benefits accessible to retirees for purposes of accessing mortgages, and also for purposes of making their contributions more secure. view
  • 10 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Minister had indicated in the past that the HELB would also consider students from outside public universities, particularly those in Dar es Salaam and Kampala. How far has she gone in helping our students outside the country? view
  • 10 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads what steps he is taking to improve the ADB-funded road projects on Maili Saba-Nzoia Water Supply (E328) and Kiminini-Kinyoro (E281) roads that have been done shoddily due to lack of proper supervision. view
