Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker, for allowing me to contribute. I want to affirm that COVID-19 is real. The graveyards are filling up quickly. We should be very careful given that we come from different counties. If we continue meeting the way we are doing right now, we could be also super spreaders besides risking our lives. The 26 per cent infection rate is not just a number. Those are people's lives. As we have all noticed, the death rates have increased from one or two deaths to 18 to 24. That should be alarming to anybody who has sense ...

Madam Deputy Speaker, I also support the Motion as amended because if we continue holding ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me the opportunity to support this Motion. The last time that I checked the statistic of the infection rate, it was at 22.1 per cent. That is an extremely high infection rate. It is a high time we did something about bringing down the infection rates. Before schools are reopened, we need to minimize intercountry movement and as well as adjust the night curfew time to start early. For example, if curfew starts at 8.00 p.m., the infection rates may come down. The COVID-19 infection rate has never been this high. When we ...

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I wish to join you and my other colleagues in congratulating Sen. Kavindu Muthama for a resounding victory; 85 per cent win is not a mean feat. How many people came here with 85 per cent win? I am sure they are very few. Therefore, I congratulate you. I also wish to congratulate very much the Wiper Party and your party leader, our former Vice-President for allowing a woman to thrive. Women in this country, it is not that they not organized. Therefore, political parties ignoring women votes is very dangerous trend because they are ...
