• 6 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: The other thing is that we have the NG-CDF. We have the constituency project management committees. Once we pass this Bill, the issue of marginalised groups should come out very clearly. When we evaluate the companies that have applied for a specific job, we have to consider people with disabilities. The company shows the profile and level of education of the main directors. That should come out very clearly, so that the project management committees of the NG-CDF can award the group given it is made up of disabled persons. • 6 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. David Gikaria did very well to come up with this Bill. We will look at it from the NG-CDF point of view. I want to make it very clear that once you have a project, whichever magnitude it is, you should look at the directors of the particular company you are giving the tender. The first priority should be given to our brothers and sisters who are disabled, women and the youth, because we know they are the majority. view

The main objective of the Bill is to establish regional cancer treatment centres so that we can detect the killer disease early. I hope we will be able to pass the Bill in good time so that we can set up the regional centres with facilities capable of detecting this monster. • 31 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker for the opportunity to contribute to this Supplementary Appropriation Bill. As mentioned by the Chairperson, we have a serious problem of fuel in this country. Coming to Nairobi from Western was an issue for me. I had to fuel my vehicle thrice at a very high price. I do not agree with the Chairman saying that our fuel prices are lower than those in Uganda. He should ask me because we have people going to Uganda to fuel. The Chairman was wrong because fuel prices in Uganda are lower than in Kenya. I say ... view
• 31 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: The other thing is that, it is a bit unfortunate that in this Appropriation Bill, we do not have money for the seeds and fertilisers for the farmers in western Kenya. The rains have delayed and we have a problem as far as farming is concerned because the prices of fertiliser are very high. I have not read this Bill in detail and I hope that there is some subsidy money for the farmers. view
• 31 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: All in all, I support this Bill and I hope it will trace some of the issues affecting Kenyans. For example, issues to do with fertiliser, fuel and CDF. He has mentioned that they have allocated money for the incomplete CDF projects. I think this Supplementary Appropriation Bill has addressed that. I hope that helps those who are depending on completion of projects of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), and that the projects will be completed in good time. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation the following Question: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide the status of the de-siltation works at Kapsitwet, Aseka and Marinda dams in Kwanza Constituency? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary also provide the names of dams and water pans that the Ministry plans to construct in Kwanza Constituency to facilitate provision of water for household use and irrigation in the constituency? view
