  • 15 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. While I appreciate what is going on in Kisumu City, there is concern on other aerodromes or airstrips in the country. For example, in Kericho, we have an airstrip that is not functional. Similarly, the one in Bomet is going into disuse. What plans are there within the Ministry to maintain and upgrade airstrips in other parts of the 2768 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES October 15, 2008 country? view
  • 15 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister cannot wish away the loss of Kshs2.3 billion by saying that the Committee on Agriculture, Lands and Natural Resources went to the Pyrethrum Board of Kenya. He must tell the nation where the Kshs2.3 billion is. Secondly, the Management Board, which was appointed illegally by the Ministry, and without reference to the farmers, cannot be said to be managing the affairs of the Pyrethrum Board of Kenya without the authority of the farmers, who have been fleeced of their money! view

  • 14 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also want to join my colleagues in thanking the Minister and his Ministry for this presentation this afternoon. The loudest noise coming out of the local authorities is about allowances to the councillors to the extent that the councillors are not involved in any initiative to develop their local authorities. I would like to urge the Minister to stop for a moment, listen to these people and sort out this matter, so that we see how they can deliver services to our people. Otherwise, as of now, if you go to any local authority, the ... view
  • 9 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- (a) whether he could confirm that Litein Police Station was built on land set aside for a public bus park and market stalls; and, (b) when he is planning to appropriately relocate and build the police station. view
  • 9 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Assistant Minister for that answer, which shows that the Government cares less about the people of Bureti. In his reply, he has used the word "whatsoever". In other words, he is so firm that nothing can be done about it. The people of Litein - a small town - have nowhere to do marketing of their produce. They are doing it on the roadside and the Assistant Minister cares less! The people there have no toilets, and the Assistant Minister cares less! He is now telling us that the property--- view
