  • 21 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: I rise to argue a few issues that will allow me to give my opinion on this Bill. I am not supporting this Bill for the following reasons: I feel that the industry of sports in this country is so heavy that every young man and woman is yearning to be a sportspersons. Those that have done it in earlier years have fallen into a hole. This is because they do as they are expected, take our country into the shining realms internationally but they are managed by other people who handle their cases and exploit them. • 21 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: When I talk of legal tussles, I mean there are some people who appoint managers to manage them locally and internationally. They locate opportunities for the sportsmen. Most of the time, especially for the cases that I am familiar with, they are not able to remit the money that they are supposed to be paying the sportspeople. So, when they are in the process of looking for remedies and recover whatever they invested, they are not in position to get legal support. I was looking at a Bill that would come up with a suggestion on the creation of a ... view

  • 20 Sep 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I want to, indeed, confirm that when we came in the House, we had enough numbers, but I am very concerned about the conspiracy that has been seen in this House to ensure that they create a divide. Even when Members have soundly given their views, I want to understand the technology in the House which is actually deceiving Members. The screens were showing that we had 352 Members. How did they come up with that number, yet you say there is no quorum? view
  • 20 Sep 2018 in National Assembly: I have some information that the 411 platform has sent information to the effect that the Bill has been passed, which is completely wrong. This is shameful. We cannot allow that. We came here dedicated, ready and committed to stand with Wanjiku. We must stand with Wanjiku, no matter what. view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to contribute and support this Bill. I stand here to applaud the move of stamp duty tax exemption for first-time home owners. I come from a county where majority of money makers believe in buying plots of 50 by 100, 100 by 100 and so on. Majority of them acquire these plots with the sole intention of building their first homes. I wish this tax exemption would take care of the first-time plot buyers with the sole intention of building their first home. This will encourage many people especially ... view
  • 12 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I rise to support because I understand that in the spirit of the Big Four Agenda and specifically in industrialisation, we require a lot of skills so that we can implement the Agenda in a right way. Therefore, we want to train many people in all sectors of industrialisation. We can only achieve this if we revamp the TVETs to have the capacity to train as many young people as possible. view

  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support my able colleague, Hon. G. K. on the very important issue of water which touches on all of us because it is an enabler for our lives. As a woman, this is one of the issues that touch on our leadership especially for us County Women Representatives who have the mandate to manage issues that affect the affirmative groups. One of the affected affirmative groups is women. We know that women carry the burden when there is no sufficient water in households. On a larger scale, it ... view
