• 5 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the vetting of all judicial officers who were serving before the new Constitution was passed is a mandatory constitutional requirement. As hon. Members know, the persons who are serving as judges have been vetted. All persons serving as magistrates, including those who have been promoted to the level of judges, have not been vetted. It is necessary that the process comes to an end. It has been torturous for those who are not yet vetted. We are now dealing with magistrates and it is a matter affecting the livelihoods of our people. It is not a matter that you want to be rushed. Remember, any decision that Board makes has very shattering consequences on the life of a person.
