  • 18 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Question requires the substantive Minister. view
  • 18 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am asking a relevant question. Yesterday, the Minister for Energy promised to pay some money for some towns in Mr. Munya's constituency. Therefore, in view of the fact that the Kangundo CDF Committee paid this amount of money for those projects, could the Minister pay the balance through the Rural Electrification Programme, for those programmes to be completed in Kangundo? view
  • 18 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, when the committee was paying those amounts, it did not intend that the whole area was to be surveyed for the supply of electricity. So, the surveyors were misled into surveying the whole area by the committee members who were on the ground. In fact, that money was meant to supply electricity to only those markets so that the surrounding people could get it from there. I thank the Ministry of Energy because, as I speak now, some materials have been taken to Matakutha and Kamiti, although work has been abandoned. When will the KPLC complete ... view
  • 27 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Administration and National Security:- (a) whether he is aware that residents of Matungulu Division of Machakos District have built a DO's office at the Divisional Headquarters at Kisukioni Market; (b) why the DOs posted to Matungulu Division are not stationed at the divisional headquarters and continue to occupy the Tala Chief's Office; and, (c) when the current DO together with the departmental heads will move to the divisional headquarters. view
  • 27 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for his 2430 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES July 27, 2006 answer. Since most of the offices are complete, could the Assistant Minister consider sending some departmental heads to the divisional headquarter which has stayed for over 10 years without a divisional officer or departmental heads? view
  • 27 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this division was created by the Government. The people of Matungulu Division have put a lot of effort in building the structures which are there. Could the Assistant Minister tell this House how much money Matungulu will be allocated this financial year in order to complete the structures which are not there? view
  • 13 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads and Public Works:- (a) whether he is aware that Tala-Donyo-Sabuk road serves many coffee farms which include Kianzabe, Wendano, Matuu, Kwa Matinga, Kayatta and Mukamukuu in Kangundo; (b) why it has remained untarmacked for over 42 years; and, (c) when it will be tarmacked. view
  • 6 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The hon. Member wanted the names of the contractors. Even if they are many, why can he not mention a few of them? view
  • 5 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Co-operative Development and Marketing:- (a) if he is aware that coffee farming activities have been abandoned at Kwa Matingi, Wendano, Matuu, Kianzabe and Kayatta farms in Kangundo; (b) if he is also aware that the shareholders of these farms get no dividends when their directors borrow money from banks against the farms' title deeds for their own use; (c) if he is also aware that many of the directors have initiated legal proceedings to sustain their positions at the expense of shareholders; and, (d) what the Minister is doing to ensure that these farms are returned ... view
  • 5 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, although the Assistant Minister said that he is aware, I feel that he has been misled by his officers. In Kayatta Farm, all the coffee trees have been uprooted. In fact, 80,000 acres have been leased by the directors to Del Monte Company Limited. In Kwa Matingi Farm, there are no employees because they have stopped going to work. This is because they have not been paid their salaries. Could the Assistant Minister send an independent team to investigate what is actually taking place in those farms? view
