On a point of order, Hon. Deputy Speaker. Is it really in order for the Leader of the Majority Party to discriminate agasint one gender in this House by saying that he does not want to see women? He has a woman in the House and he is still fasting.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. You know I have been wondering about people talking about “the urgency” of the matter and yet for two years we have not had a commission. One hour cannot make a big difference. I am supporting this and I thank Hon. Kamanda for it. I am, however, thinking of something on the membership of the Commission. The membership of the commission is 12 people. They will be making decisions on behalf of the commission. My thinking is, from what we know through Mwongozo and other practices sanctioned in other Bills, the membership of a ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also want to say something about diabetes type 1 and 2. What affects most adults is diabetes type 2 because of our lifestyle. We have realised that most of us drive and use vehicles and the worst is the boda boda in the rural areas. For the people in the villages and especially my home, nobody had diabetes. They are taking a lot ...

Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to congratulate Hon. Didmus Barasa for moving the Motion in the House today. It is like he heard what I was discussing today in my house with my son and daughter. They asked me for fare and I asked them what happened to the money I had given them. They told me that in the previous day, fares had been hiked. It is true that the most affected people as a result of unregulated fares are the youth and women. Our youth use public transport a lot when going to look for jobs ...

Regulation of fares in the country is paramount. We really need it. Most people travel in the morning with an estimated amount of money but, in the evening, fares are hiked. So, they do not have enough money for fare back home. It becomes hectic to the public. As many Members have said, this country, as much as we want to give people liberty to do business, we should also protect the public because it is our duty as representatives of the people to see to it that the public is comfortable.
