That amendment contradicts the amendment we have just endorsed on Clause 23. Whereas Clause 23 talks about a search warrant, Clause 24 talks of “without a search warrant” which clearly contradicts each other. view

Looking at this Bill, the Central Authority is in reference to mutual legal assistance which is basically a function under the Office of the Attorney-General, which does not have prosecution powers. The Committee thought this particular issue of prosecution should be removed so that only investigations are done. view
