  • 20 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: passed a very important Motion that provides for compulsory tree planting in schools and public places. We look forward to the Cabinet Secretary in charge, Hon. Keriako Tobiko, to fast-track it so that we can have a system where schools and public places plant trees. We can do more by investing in commercial tree planting so that we have an integrated policy of dealing with the issues of climate change, food security and many other issues that affect us. Before, I conclude, counties need to prioritise on coming up with regulations around the issues of climate change which five counties have done. We also need to have a proper legal mechanism of having public-private partnerships on issues of climate change so that we can have a consolidated process of providing funds to support climate change initiatives. view
