  • 30 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker for the opportunity. I also rise to support the Motion for Adjournment. I wish to congratulate the leadership of Parliament and my colleagues for a job well done in this session. We are hoping that when we go home, we will get re-energized. I also wish to congratulate my colleagues for the passing of the National Police Service (Amendment) Bill that we have just passed. That was a milestone in this country because without security, we cannot even attempt to say that we are developing as a nation. I would also urge my colleagues that ... view

  • 22 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, my attention has been drawn to an action that is taking place and I would want to find out whether it is parliamentary. Across the Floor, I saw my friend, hon. Mati and the hon. Member behind him chewing. I do not know whether they are chewing gum or something else. Is it parliamentary to chew in the House? view
  • 19 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, thank you for the opportunity. I rise to support the Motion, though grudgingly, as my colleagues have said, because of the worry that the governors may not utilize the funds for the development of the counties as it was intended. According to me, we are saying that there is a runaway wage bill in Kenya but the solution is not doing away with women leaders of this country. The solution is not to contract the Budget but to make more money that will be used for our development. The women of Kenya have only had the only chance ... view

  • 19 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Secondly, there is a lot of duplication. There are so many people in this country doing to the same job, employed for the same thing and they are not delivering. If we do not have production, how are we going to have a lot of money to pay everybody? Even if we were to talk of retrenching people, it would be a very expensive affair; it would demoralize people. We need to look at the issues of stopping money leakages, and ensure that we employ people where there is need for them to work but not for political convenience. Thank ... view
  • 26 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I just wanted to bring to your attention that we can hardly hear what the hon. Member is saying. He is supposed to be contributing in a manner that we can understand. I think he is shouting so hard. I do not know why. view
  • 20 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker, for the opportunity. I rise to support this Bill because it will bring sanity to the institution of marriage which has caused a lot of stress in the society. Hon. Deputy Speaker, this idea of re-arranging various laws that cover marriage and putting them together; I believe will go a long way in bringing harmony. It is going to remove ambiguous clauses that existed there before and give people freedom to choose whom they want to share their life with on earth. I also support the Bill because when it comes to disputes, there is ... view
  • 5 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I want to inform my learned friend that there are times when people who may not necessarily be journalists can do the work of a journalist. I am a living example. I used to run a legal programme on radio for a long time. What the rule states is that people of that kind should also be regulated; because they are there. view
