Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I just want to make a clarification that the procedure is laid out in law. Is it accurate to say that if I declare a public holiday outside the law, then in the natural event it is not a public holiday, then we will know that is just a political statement which does not make it a public holiday. Is that accurate?

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Mine is just to give a brief reaction to what you said. Just the fact that in my own understanding, there is one dissent from the committee, does not exclude the fact that it is still a report of the committee. If we were to go by what I read in the Standing Orders, if we cannot arrive to a consensus, then that report is subjected to a vote. If the vote is a majority vote, on account of that majority vote notwithstanding and they accept that, that is the majority ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, maybe on the same light, it would be good to get directions from the Chair. If a committee is not satisfied with an answer that has been given by a Cabinet Secretary, should that committee present the answer that is unsatisfactory or the committee can seek leave of the Chair for postponement of that answer? It is important to have that direction from you.
