  • 27 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, thank you for this opportunity. I had wanted to contribute to the main Motion, but I want to say that I oppose the amendment because, as has been said, this Motion is self explanatory. It wants all Kenyans who are eligible to be registered. Besides, we have been given direction by the Chairman of the Departmental Committee in charge of security. As my contribution, the ID card is a basic right of every Kenyan. I feel that Kenyans who need ID cards should be facilitated to obtain them. Officers who are currently registering people should know ... view
  • 27 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, on the amendment, I feel that it is better to bring a substantive Motion that will deal with the people who are wrongly in refugee camps, because we are not sureof them. If we accept this amendment, we are going to register--- There is a possibility of registering aliens. So, I oppose the amendment. As I end my contriubtion, I want to say that officers who are currently registering people should be facilitated. I know areas like my constituency, Mogotio, are very remote; however, if registration officers can work with other Government officers as well as ... view
  • 20 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: I am sorry to raise my hand. I think there is an issue that I really need clarification on, hon. Deputy Speaker. In my constituency, there is no vehicle and no furniture. Out of the 401 people who were targeted, only 321 had their money brought. 80 of them are missing. We also had three people whose names were brought to my constituency and they were from another sub-county. So, I would like to know when the 80 people will get their money. I also want to know why Members from another sub-county were brought to my constituency. I heard ... view
  • 20 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: and I do not understand why this is the case. Our committee refused and insisted that they wanted people from all locations to be brought, not just those that have been identified. I really do not know why they should decide on the locations. Thank you for the opportunity. view
  • 17 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I would also like to seek clarification regarding secondary schools. In my constituency, which is one of the semi arid constituencies, people are starving especially children in secondary and primary schools. What will the Government do, urgently, to save the children from starving and schools from getting closed? We should avoid bureaucracy and save the people of Mogotio Constituency and other parts of Kenya. view

  • 17 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I think I have become KANU original although I am maybe the youngest. I believe that we need to protect our heritage. This is a national heritage and when I become emotional, I think we are an independent country; we have our heritage; we have our identity. We cannot lose our identity. If these organizations have money and I know they are making money, let them start their own stadia. Let them build their own stadia! Let them not come and whitewash our heritage. When in the last Parliament I was the Minister for Sports, I refused the ... view
