30 Mar 2010 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, that even confirms that the fears are unfounded. Since Independence, there have been more migrations of Kenyans into the Rift Valley, Nairobi and Coast provinces. Kenyans are free to live and work wherever they find gainful employment, including Rift Valley Province. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Mr. Jirongo who is agitated lives in Rift Valley. I wonder whether anybody has ever disturbed him.

30 Mar 2010 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we need to devolve power and resources. We had proposed that for ease of management, the current eight provinces should be turned into regions which would be called âProvincial Assemblyâ or âProvincesâ as they are called in South Africa and Canada. This is contained in the Draft by the Committee of Experts (CoE). Since everybody wants a county, we can have as many counties as recommended in the original CoEâs draft which had 74 counties. That will take care of the devolved system. We should then empower the senate to take care of the regions and ...

23 Mar 2010 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) The decision to increase the threshold of permissible fluoride level for mineral water from 1.5ppm to 4.0ppm was based on WHO guidelines which do not indicate the maximum levels of fluoride for mineral water directly obtained from natural or drilled sources from underground water bearing strata, and without being subjected to any treatment other than filtration and decantation process. The CODEX standard, CS 108:1981 (amended in 2001) for Natural Mineral Waters, provides a threshold of 2mg/l fluoride for purposes of labeling and does not indicate the maximum limit of fluoride ...

23 Mar 2010 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have the same CODEX standards which the hon. Member has. So, he is not holding a strange document. It is a document that is available to everybody in the standards world. He is quoting on 632. As I said, it does not specify the maximum levels, with respect to water which is drilled from sources underground, from water bearing strata and without being subjected to any treatment other than filtration and decantation. Some of the water from the tapped water is different from underground water bearing rocks. This is where there is no specific ...
