We have been asking when it is going to start. We have not seen it start. Could he confirm whether the programme has started? If it has started, where has it started and when will it be completed? view
  • 23 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, during the clashes of 1992, very many people, I want to say from Kisii, who were evicted from the Rift Valley are still not able to return, because the people of that area went and occupied that land. When they get there, they are chased away yet they had title deeds. What is the Assistant Minister going to do to make sure that these people are protected and return to the land for which they even have title deeds? view

I should also compliment the Assistant Minister for Education for putting it plainly here that they already have got a programme for early childhood education. What is important is the issue of implementation. Mr. Angwenyi brought this Motion to Parliament because nothing is happening on the ground. We need to implement this programme and make sure that as our children grow, we prepare them for the future, because the future of this country depends on our ... view
  • 22 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: So, it is very important that we should prepare our children. We should, particularly, prepare the teachers. Teacher-training colleges should be there to train early childhood education teachers, so that they can prepare the children well. I should also add that in the curriculum of these teachers, there should be included what we call "public health education" to be taught by these teachers, because as children grow, they have what we call "early childhood chronic infections or chronic conditions".
