28 May 2019 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, when you look at it clearly, many of those who have given themselves to public service so that they can serve Kenyans have ended up in a lot of difficulties. He is not the only one. We bury and glorify them in their deathbeds but it is time we did something so that they can also inspire that kind of leadership among the aspiring politicians and leaders of this country.

16 May 2019 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. This country must also have discipline. You cannot have a country where the whole Senate is speaking from both ends of the mouth. Let us face it. I saw some unionists disrupting classes for the new curriculum. People have freedom of assembly and picketing is allowed. However, it is The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate.

wrong for a person to fight, beat or remove people who are being taught from classes. It is totally unacceptable. So, Prof. Magoha should go on. I, personally support him. We should not come here and be populists. We need to check whether due procedure of interdiction and the TSC policy was followed. We cannot have a country that is reckless. We may beg to differ. I was not privileged to be present when it was made but I followed it closely. I was away representing my country at the African Union (AU). I was part of a delegation of Members of Parliament from different countries in Africa whose purpose was to defend and follow through some approvals with regard to the African Union Disability Architecture (AUDA) and the Continental Plan ...

because they were passed by the Council of Ministers. I am now waiting for the Heads of States Summit in January. This was also a noble calling and I am glad to also say that Kenya has been at the forefront in this regard. We truly occupy a space at the continental level that we need to strengthen and harness.

9 Apr 2019 in Senate:
Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I am also happy because those similar sentiments have been captured by the Presidential State of the Nation Address in his observation on the role Kenya has played with regard to the African Union (AU). Kenya sits in the AU Peace and Security Council. I even found some Kenyans such as one General Orina who is an advisor there. There is also the continued pursuit to ensure that we become non- permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The international structure of governance is still wanting. Even as the President noted in his Address, ...

9 Apr 2019 in Senate:
Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir at this point in time, it is inconceivable and unfathomable to have a situation where Africa cannot be represented amongst the Committee of Nations purely on account that there are the so-called industrialized nations.

9 Apr 2019 in Senate:
I am currently reading a book called the Wealth of Nations and it clearly shows a very good history of how wealth amongst nations has changed in the last 500 years. Nothing is static. While on one hand it clearly points out that the lack of proper organisation and market failure is as a result of politics - the way they organise society - on the other hand it also gives a glimpse into what we need to do with regards to how we can make our country become prosperous going into the future.
