  • 27 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, on agriculture, the Government has allocated Kshs2 billion for subsidy of fertilizer and seeds. This, indeed, will go a long way in ensuring that the bread basket of this country has affordable inputs for agriculture. Going forward, as a country, we need to provide more money through this programme, so that our farmers are supported in farming. view
  • 27 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Finally, there is an issue of concern that KRA should collect more revenue for this country. If you look at its history in the last few years, it has not met its targets. This is an issue the National Treasury and the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade should address. The KRA is either becoming incompetent or they are not making full disclosure of the revenues they are collecting. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I stand to support this proposal. I am surprised that the Leader of the Majority Party is opposing this proposal yet he has come up with a proposal before this House on how we can increase the number of women in this House. We must encourage women to participate in elective positions. This is one of the ways of aiding in sorting out the issue of the one-third gender rule. We should support this process. I support. Thank you. view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the President’s Address to the nation. First and foremost, I wish to congratulate the President for addressing the nation successfully even after some Members of Parliament from the Opposition tried to interrupt his Speech severally. view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Secondly, I wish to commend the Speaker for controlling the situation in the House and for putting this House in order. Such primitive and outdated behaviour should not be tolerated at all. As leaders, we hope that the scenarios that we witnessed last week shall not be seen again in this House. view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: I hear that for you to be guaranteed a certificate from the Opposition, you must be seen to be shouting louder than us and heckling. I believe that our friends who were participating last time have succeeded to get their certificates for next elections. Indeed, for you to be respected, you must respect others. I urge our friends from the Opposition to respect the current Government. view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: The President highlighted some of the successes that the Government has made in the last few years. The Constitution provides for freedom of speech. The Opposition is entitled to its opinions, but it should be factual when criticising the Government. Some of the facts that are contained in the President’s Speech are very clear. I have sat here and heard a number of Members of Parliament speaking. It looks like some of the Members who are contributing were thrown out of the House and did not listen to the President or they have not read his Speech. The President said ... view
  • 16 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I support this amendment. It is very good that we come up with a Bill which does not create conflicts within institutions at the end of the day. The other day we had conflicts between the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service. This will give clarity. We must ensure that these provisions do not conflict with other existing legal frameworks. view
  • 10 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I beg to lay the following Paper on the Table of the House today Thursday, 10th March 2016:- view
  • 10 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: The Reports of the Departmental Committee on Energy, Communication and Information on:- (i) The 13th ITU World Telecom Conference from 30th November to 2nd December 2015. (ii) The World Radio Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland, between 21st and 29th November, 2015. Thank you. view
