  • 30 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, that is not something we want to accept from the police. When you see a criminal, whether he is in Machakos he is still a criminal. There is nothing rosy about Gor Mahia fans going to Machakos and even burning a bus that took them there. view
  • 29 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. view
  • 29 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I apologize for not having carried my card but I rise to support. I want to be very brief and thank you for your kindness. The Motion being discussed is very important. The attitude of Kenya Airways is that of arrogance. We need as a House to rein in so that the business environment in our country is enhanced by affordable fares from the carrier that only a few years ago was not making any money. This House gave them so much budgetary money to come up to a level where they would be making ... view

  • 29 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Yes he has allowed me. So all I am trying to say is that we need to change the attitude in the aviation industry. Many airlines have tried to come up; The East African Airways; Fly540; the Jetlink and all of them have gone under except the Fly540 which is still trying. Their problem is that Kenya Airways will not allow another airline to operate within our air space because when they try they use the monopolistic tendencies to lower fares and put them out of business. Because of time, I want to support but I want to encourage that ... view
  • 29 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: none can push the other out using the unfair business practices. I want to support because of lack of time. view
  • 23 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. You will excuse my colleague because he is new in this House. I am told he made his Maiden Speech last week. In fact, he told me. Therefore, this should be his first serious business. Hon. Speaker, nobody could be more out of order than what hon. Kuria is trying to do. We are complaining that the Judiciary is a bit overbearing on legislation and legislators. We should not even attempt to give the impression that we want to break rules. That matter is alive before court. Yesterday, I saw you being accused of not respecting ... view
  • 23 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: just accusing you for the sake of it would really have a field day. Therefore, I urge you to rule hon. Kuria seriously out of order. view
  • 23 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, just to bring it to the attention of the House, we did discuss, as the leadership. We agreed that the Bills pending for Third Reading will be our subject next Tuesday, so that many of them can be dealt with before we go on recess. It is good that the information goes to Members, so that we do not quarrel over a matter which we have already discussed. Hon. Speaker, as a private Member, I would like to refer to your direction that the Cabinet Secretary for Lands comes and issues a Statement on the Community land being ... view
  • 23 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, with all humility, I would request that you issue an order from the Chair that if the Cabinet Secretary cannot appear on Tuesday, she furnishes the House with a letter showing she has put a caveat on plot LR209/13332, which somebody is trying to defraud the public of. It would be very important because that sale is supposed to happen within 14 days, of which there are only a couple of days left. We know, from their own documentation, that somebody is trying to make Kshs1.1 billion, in respect of which they have said, in their documentation, that ... view
