  • 30 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: law made to govern this sector. Otherwise, if we do not go this direction, this country is going to the dogs. This will be the most abused sector and everybody is going to be maligned. We find people giving out information that is not theirs. We have reached a level of photo shopping where you paste your face on a different body and this gives wrong information. We must trace and know the owners of these firms and how we can put up with them. This Bill is the best but long overdue. However, I believe that it has come ... view
  • 2 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Security is everything. It allows a country to produce, sell, make money and develop. There is underdevelopment where there is insecurity, Laikipia being a reference. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 2 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: I support this Petition. The Chairman of the Committee should sanction the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government to give the people of Laikipia total hearing because they are Kenyans. Outside this country, for example, in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, the identity of Kenya is the Maasai cloth. That cloth is more of our national flag everywhere in the world. If tourists come to this country to see how the Maasai people live and find that they are not secure, the image they will have is that the whole country is insecure. ... view
  • 2 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: drinkers. Let those policemen be redeployed in Laikipia to bring peace to that region. On the first Petition, Kshs19 million is not change to keep. They must look at the shares that have been fraudulently transferred. The owner of the money should be compensated with interest. We, the people of Kabuchai, support this Petition. view
  • 2 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also support the Petition on mechanisation of tea picking. Mechanising tea plucking is good because it saves on time, but it is done in areas where there are no casual labourers. My people from western Kenya are mostly relied upon tea plucking in Chebango, Kapsuser, Seretet and even in James Finlays Estate in Kericho. If machines are brought, many people will be laid-off and this will affect the economy at the bottom. When we pay tea workers well, we provide a strong base for people at the bottom layer of the economy to rise and ... view

  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: I thank you very much, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the speech that was well planned by His Excellency the President yesterday. When I keenly listened to the speech of the President, I also observed that on the Speakers gallery were Cabinet Secretaries who must have heard the same speech from the President. When you look at the vision of the President, it is one that is in the hearts of Kenyans. The President has a very good vision of assisting the farmers in this country, by allowing farmers in Nzoia Sugar to be paid their money and ... view
  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: Without forgetting, there is the issue of security. His Excellency the President talked very well about the security. I was impressed when he said that we must build houses for the police in this country. It was well planned. The only problem is how we recruit them. Recruitment of police officers in this country has remained a preserve of the rich. How they come to become police The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: officers is questionable. It is a nightmare for the fastest athletes who qualify to become police officers in this country. I thank the President for his speech and for exercising his mandate as the President. Look at how he was trying to prioritise the Coffee Cherry Funds. In his planning as a President, the Coffee Cherry Fund has never assisted a coffee farmer. Hon. Deputy Speaker, this money is supposed to assist the farmers to pluck the coffee, grade it and transport the coffee to the factories. However, you find that those who give this money go and give it ... view
  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I am happy that you changed the Chair when I was speaking. I hope you will be kind to me for my minute lost. I was not keen. I apologise. Now that I have seen you well, I will proceed. The President said that we have moved from the 12th richest country to position six in Africa. When you talk of that and people on the ground have no money, they might not agree with him. There are people who want to fail the President of this country. They include his Cabinet Secretaries. They ... view
