  • 23 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to congratulate the incoming Leader of the Majority Party, Dr. Amos Muhinga Kimunya, whom I have known for a long time. We did our Master’s degrees together. I know responsibility comes with a lot of challenges. I know he is up to the task. view
  • 23 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: To the first Leader of the Majority Party, who has been my good friend, and maybe I was seen as the face behind collection of signatures, I want to say that it was not personal and I have no vendetta against Hon. Aden Duale. I only appeared to be the face, but there were over 120 Members who appended their signatures. view
  • 23 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: I want to tell Hon. Duale that when the history will be written about Parliament, and especially the 11th Parliament, of course, he will have a huge chapter about himself. He should know that if one door closes another one opens. He should move with his head high. view
  • 18 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Indeed, this is a very serious issue and we were proactive. We wrote a letter to KEBS on Tuesday and they are supposed to appear before us on Wednesday next week. We are extending a word of invitation to both Hon. Ng’eno and Hon. Keter. In fact, yesterday we invited them. They happened to pass by where we had KEBS officials and we gave them an opportunity. It is a serious issue. We were supposed to get a report by Wednesday next week, but now because of the other supplementary questions, I think two weeks would ... view
  • 16 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, my concern is that there was an allocation of Kshs379 million which was transferred from the Ministry of Industry, The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 16 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Trade and Co-operatives under the Leather Development Council. I wanted to confirm whether it has been captured because this came from the Executive Order that was issued. view
  • 16 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: If they have been captured, then that is okay. view
  • 9 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. From the outset, I thank the Committee for a job well-done. I support this Motion. I also thank the Departmental Committee on Trade, Industry and Cooperatives for the good work that they did under very extreme conditions to come up with the various recommendations. I put forward those recommendations to the Budget and Appropriations Committee (BAC) and they were very supportive. It remained as such. They were very supportive and said that we have to live within our means. We are living in very difficult times during the COVID-19 era. Many ... view
  • 9 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: other day, we complain that we have a trade imbalance in favour of other countries. The work of trade has now been left to ambassadors who are busy with other things. In every mission abroad, there is a security attaché. There is a person from the National Intelligence Service (NIS). We have not given preference to trade attaches. I am happy that when I made this proposal to the BAC, they were able to consider about Kshs100 million which we are grateful for. We will at least get five or so attaché in those foreign missions. I do not know ... view
  • 11 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, the Bill be amended in Clause 27 by inserting the word “Service” immediately after the word “Registration”. It is basically a typographical error in that the word “service” was omitted in the Bill. It is just that simple. view
