  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: I want a clarification regarding the punters. When you bet for a game you may do so several times but only one bet wins. When calculating the difference, I would like to know whether it is the total of all the bets you made or the single bet that won. view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I support this amendment but I think the wording in (b) is not correct. It says: “…has applied and is awaiting the allocation of a house an affordable housing scheme.” It looks to me like that should be “under affordable housing scheme.” The Chairman can move that amendment. view

Temporary Deputy Chairman, maybe I do not understand but how can it be that somebody who will be taxed and has made a considerable winning is not required to have an identification number? Are we talking about children or foreigners? We are really opening it wide. If the purpose is the difficulty in tax collection, we should relook at the whole of that unless I do not understand what it means. view

I would, therefore, understand that if people are in Special Economic Zones, they would not be involved in issues of property purchase. If they are outside, obviously, they will be involved in purchase of estate. My fear and why I would oppose this is that it can be used so that people will get relief on the Capital Gains Tax that may actually not be related to the production of power. To that extent, unless someone clarifies that for my mind, I will still oppose the proposed amendment. view
