  • 29 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, whereas hon. Mbadi’s amendment has gone, I do not think the amendment that is proposed by the Committee cures the danger that we are afraid of. In my mind, I think we should add more to the Committee’s amendment, so that we give approval to that payment by a specific officer, for example the Principal Secretary. This is because as it is, any officer in the Government can actually make that payment and say that he is supported by the law. I would like that confirmed to me. view

  • 29 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I had earlier made a suggestion as I felt like the others, that the amendment is inadequate. I propose that we should actually tie this to a specific senior officer in Government. I said the Principal Secretary and I was told that this is provided for in the main Act. If I can be assured that actually there is the provision that no other officer within Treasury will make this payment, then it will be good. I would like that to be clearly stated. view

  • 23 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, partly yes. If you see my amendments, they are: “Inputs procured for the manufacture of products for medical use by companies licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.” I think I will accept that there is a slight difference which, maybe, I will consider at this point. • 23 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Yes Chair. We discussed this and I think, as to who will authorize, there is an agreement; what has been put--- view

  • 23 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Yes. What I was raising is under Item 41 on medical equipment and laboratory reagents. Those are not really taken care of by this. It may be necessary that we find a way of incorporating Item 41. Item 49 does not take care of it. It The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
