  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I did not call any particular Member of Parliament a goon. What I was referring to were the people I saw rolling themselves on the streets of The Hague. They were clad in some funny attire. view
  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, that aside, it is important for us, as a country, to separate matters of State from matters which are personal. It is also important for us to give the President time as a person to face the charges he is facing currently at The Hague, and defend himself appropriately, so that at the end of the day, if at all he is innocent, he is set free in a manner that is prescribed under the Rome Statute. No amount of drama, grandstanding or number of delegations will help the case that the President is currently facing at The ... view
  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, as I conclude, it is important to realize that as we talk about the President, his deputy and Mr. Sang that there are people in this country who lost lives. There are also people in this country who lost property during the post-election violence. It is important that as we talk about the interests of the President and his deputy, the interests of these other victims are also taken care of. view
  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, with those few remarks, I thank you. view
  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wish to lend my support to this Motion, with conditions. It is also important to underscore the fact that, in ... view
  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: the essence of devolution is negated. This problem needs to be confronted by the House, for us to make meaningful progress. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I support this Motion because if you make different categories of people to access affordable funds, you will improve money circulation in the villages and help the economy of the rural set ups. That is the only way economies of the country can grow. Therefore, what we need to ask the Government to do, subsequent to the passing of this Motion, is to come up with a legal framework to accommodate all these interests; be ... view
  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. view
  • 15 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am really worried. Is hon. Nkaissery in order to insinuate that he can advise the President not to ever again appear before the ICC and yet we know that it is a constitutional obligation, under the Rome Statute, for him to honour the summons of that court? view
  • 10 Sep 2014 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Speaker. It is quite clear that you did recall us through a special Gazette Notice. view
  • 10 Sep 2014 in National Assembly: You did recall us to this special sitting, hon. Speaker. The key reason why you recalled us was to dispense with the matters that have been laid on the table by the Chair of the Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations. view
