Once we carry out the election tomorrow, those nine women and men will be representing Kenya in that august Assembly. Therefore, it is incumbent upon all of us that as we do that election, we take into cognisance the fact that we should pay attention to the qualities of these men and women. • 7 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I think it is a matter of interpretation. In my view, it is fairly clear in the sense that it presupposes that once you chair any particular committee, then you can only be in that committee and no other committee. Again, once you are a member of the PSC, you can serve in only one committee. Remember, the Standing Orders do not recognise the Commission as a committee. Therefore, it is talking about “a committee,” which means a member of the PSC can belong to one committee just like a chair of any other committee. view

In fact, NG-CDF is the pioneer devolved fund in this country. It is also not in doubt that NG-CDF has had much bigger impact in terms of development than, perhaps, most of our county governments. I feel it is important that on my own behalf, and on behalf of my constituents of Ugunja, I express my deep condolences to the family of the departed Governor of Nyeri, Hon. Wahome Gakuru. I did not have the opportunity to know Hon. Gakuru well but from the little I have read about him since his demise early this morning, I have come to realise that he was, indeed, a great man.
