  • 24 Aug 2016 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, very briefly because we have been at this for very long. I thank the leadership of the House from both sides of the divide for the leadership they have shown in this matter. I also thank the membership of the Committee. I want to respond on one issue only. Sen. (Dr.) Machage said that the commissioners have been treated unconstitutionally, but that is not true. As we speak, nobody has removed the commissioners. I can assure him that nobody is going to remove them at any time. I can also assure him that no commissioner has ... view

  • 18 Aug 2016 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir. Just in short agreement with the Senator for Elgeyo-Marakwet and the Senate Deputy Majority Leader. The signal being sent is that we can only do business when the Bar is drawn and the doors are locked. We can only transact business when we are like prisoners, but when the door is opened we all vanish. The point that the Senator for Elgeyo-Marakwet has brought out is very important, especially when it is a Special Sitting. view
  • 12 Jul 2016 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Did you hear the Senator for Mombasa say that there are other schools in the bush? Do you know where Alliance Boys High School is and what it has done for this country? It is not in the bush. Because of Alliance Boys High School now there is a town called Kikuyu, which is not small. It is not like Kwa Jomvu. Defend this school which I had the privilege of attending. view
  • 12 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I congratulate the students of this School. I have realised that when Sen. Adan is not here, she is at the School listening to their debates. I do not know whether they are held in a classroom or some chamber of some sort. However, I congratulate you and the Speaker for having chosen the Riara Group of Schools. I have friends who have children who are doing very well in this School. Let me encourage the students that this year is significant for women. Even in Kenya, the only Nobel Peace Laureate has been a woman. There ... view
  • 12 Jul 2016 in Senate: Bw.
