Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, clause 2 be amended by deleting the definition of “journalist” and substituting therefor the following new definition— “journalist” means any person who is recognised as such by the Council upon fulfillment of a criteria set by the Council. Clause 2 deals with definitions. We just wanted to make sure that it is clear who a journalist actually is as per the wishes of the Media Council. The committee cannot speak on behalf of the committee. view
