24 Jul 2014 in Senate:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to further add that these police officers are extremely rude. They do not even want to look at who is entering through the gate. I think we are not so many that they cannot by now know that the number of Senators entering here is 68 Members, since we are currently using one gate. Secondly, it is very embarrassing for us, especially when you are coming in as a visitor and you are being stopped. We are the bosses here and they are here for our security. They are not here to search ...

17 Jul 2014 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, these are very grave matters. For the last five months, we have had issues of poor defenseless Kenyans being massacred at large. We have heard of very serious incidents in Lamu, Wajir and Mandera. What is going on in Turkana is unacceptable in this country. Very soon, if our security forces are not able to take meaningful action, Kenyans are going to take arms and defend themselves. It will be too late even for us, leaders, because we shall be overtaken by events. I urge the Chairman of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations to ...

17 Jun 2014 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity so that I may also pass my sincere condolences to the people of Mpeketoni in Lamu on behalf of the people of Kisii County. That was a very tragic incident. I regret The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. 12 Jun 2014 in Senate:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I find the contention by my dear brothers on the Majority side very frivolous. This is because, indeed, as I see, Members of my Coalition are actually coming in, as you can see. So, I do not see how the question of being late arises. Indeed, if you might recall yesterday, there were actually only two Member of the other side in the House.

11 Jun 2014 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also rise to support this Motion. I want to thank the Mover of this Motion. I know where Sen. Elachi is coming from. You will recall that we paid the UN Secretary General a courtesy call and we realized, during our mission, that indeed, many of our troops in Kenya are not getting as much opportunity in peacekeeping as they should. You know that peacekeeping missions in the world are there to consolidate peace and to support the civilians in that country if they are going through transitions.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank you for coming to our aid. The Mover of the Motion was very clear in saying that we need more opportunities. We are not saying that we do

11 Jun 2014 in Senate:
On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. Is Sen. Mugo telling us that taking a bottle of water which was stolen by the military is okay? Is she in order to equate it to taking and not stealing?

23 May 2014 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to support this Motion. First, I would like to congratulate the Senate Majority Leader and the Senate Minority Leader for proposing to establish such an able Committee. The men and women who have been proposed in this list are able and competent. They are professionals and I believe that they will carry the day for this House. Mr. Speaker, Sir, as we have in many days requested, such committees must rise above reproach and they must be like Caesar’s wife. I thought Sen. Murkomen was standing on a point of ...
