  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I know there are modes of communication in this House, one of which is the Communication that you also made last week on the ruling and the procedures in this House. However, we have also been having communication from the Office of the Majority Whip, particularly, today, we have received short messages claiming that we converge here by 2.00 p.m. for purposes of voting. I wish to seek your clarification on whether this message is true. If it is true, based on your Ruling that we will be debating this matter until almost all Members are ... view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I rise to join my colleagues, friends and the people of this Republic of Kenya in voicing my concerns and also my opinions. I am putting my voice on record so that today, tomorrow or whatever day, my position can be known on this particular document. I stand here to express the opinions of myself, the people that I represent and love; the people of Emurua Dikirr. I want to voice my concern on this document as a document that will go down in history as the most divisive document, ... view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: The four pillars have completely been rendered irrelevant in this House. This Amendment Bill tries to talk to several issues, like the questions of divisive politics, ethnic antagonism, inclusivity and corruption. But when you look at all the issues choreographed here, I will tell you for a fact that none of the proposals in this document cure all the issues they are purporting to discuss. view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: For example, look at the question of divisive politics, which has been causing this country to be divided after every election. We all know the reason why people normally fight is because of resources. People normally have divisive elections because of stolen elections. Also, after elections there are issues because of presidential appointments. When people are going to elections, they want to see who is elected as the President of this country and the only issue is, when the President takes over the appointments he makes starting from the CSs to the lower cadres. The President normally does appointments disregarding ... view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: I am shocked, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, when somebody makes reference to Hon. Barack Obama as the late President of the United States of America (USA). Hon. Obama is still alive. I wish that statement could be expunged from the Hansard, and the Member should apologise to the family of Obama. view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: On behalf of the people of Emurua Dikirr Constituency, I vote no. view
  • 28 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. First I want to state that I am a Kenyan by birth, blood, spirit and by everything else. I have a right like anybody else to delve into this constitutional making process and to give my thinking on it. I want you to look at Article 89 of the Constitution. It gives IEBC the mandate to delimit the constituencies and wards. When you look at this BBI Bill, it proposes to delimit certain constituencies in certain counties without amending the Article that mandates IEBC to delimit. One, I am seeking your guidance if it is constitutional ... view
  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to air my views on this particular issue, which is threatening the lives and opportunities in our country. Today, we have agreed that we will recess for one month and come back. I am not against the idea given that we also need to look at the arrangement that the country has placed before us. We also need to agree that of importance in all this is the rearrangement of our sittings. This House, as you have ruled, is in the same position as the other two arms of the Government; ... view
  • 23 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. My name is Johana Kipyegon Ngeno. I second. view
  • 25 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, as much as we may be excited about the new political dispensation and new relationships we have in this House, it has to be known that this is a House of records. I do not believe there is any minister in this House. The Member who has just spoken referred to another Member as the Minister for Finance, which is not true. view
