  • 31 May 2017 in National Assembly: It is true that Hon. Gikaria’s petition has been pending before the Committee, but the Committee has dispensed with the matter. A report has been written and it is awaiting the Speaker’s approval for tabling. Maybe by next week, if the Speaker approves, it shall be tabled among other petitions. Currently, the Committee has reports that are awaiting approval so that they can be tabled. view

  • 22 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. Indeed, it is true that Hon. Gikaria brought a Petition regarding Naka Primary School in Nakuru. The Committee visited the school last year and heard the public. The Committee has been trying to meet the Cabinet Secretary for Lands and the National Land Commission (NLC), but because of other commitments, this has not happened. The Committee has arranged for a one day retreat with the CS for Lands on 27th February, 2017, which will be on Monday, next week.   • 26 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. As the Hon. Member has said, the Committee visited Naivasha sometime in October, last year and met the petitioners and other interested parties. The Report has been written but the Committee is yet to meet and adopt it. After this Sitting, the Committee is headed to Meru to listen to another Petition by Hon. Cyprian Iringo. We expect to sit next week. We will table the Report after adopting it. view

My Chairman is hosting the President in his constituency today but after this, I will meet with him in Meru and pass the same information to him. If the Report can be scheduled to be adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, then maybe it can be tabled by Wednesday next week. view
