  • 25 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support this Motion. I belong to the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations. Before we came up with this idea of bringing this document to this honourable House, we considered all sides to see the advantages and disadvantages of this business in our country. We felt that the regional maritime body will help us curb the issue of pirates in our seas and get support from our friends to curb terrorism that takes place along the sea. We also felt that we shall get protection as a country because we will have ... view
  • 25 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Report of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs on Sessional Paper No.2 of 2018 on the National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Policy. This Policy addresses pertinent issues that make the fight against corruption very difficult. Any organisation requires a policy. The policy is a strategy done at the highest level of the institution. So, we want to appreciate the work done by this Committee by coming up with a policy that addresses the issues that make the fight against corruption in this country difficult. There have been issues in this ... view
  • 4 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I support the Report of the Committee by just one word: This process of nationalisation is transforming private assets into public assets, so that the public can manage the assets on behalf of others. There is nothing good like being proud of your country, running your own assets and putting your knowledge in your asset. When we take the assets back to the public, experts will help us to develop policies that are going to govern the assets. This will also give every Kenyan, wherever they are, an opportunity to invest back in the country. When ... view
  • 27 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I will just take a very short time. First of all, whenever a Committee of this House is given an assignment it does it very well. If this Report is implemented, this country will get the best from our referral hospitals. We only have five referral hospitals in this country compared to the population. I want to urge the Government to set up other referral hospitals in this country so that health services can be brought closer to the people. This is because some people travel long distances to get to a referral hospital. ... view
  • 27 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: referral hospitals should be brought closer to the people. Maybe we can build 20 or 30 of them in strategic areas where people can access them easily. view
  • 27 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: National referral hospitals are the face of the country in the health sector. Whenever foreigners visit our country they look at the kind of hospitals we have and take the message back to their country. Sometimes we receive visitors and they go to a referral hospital thinking they will receive good medical attention. When they go back to their countries they just laugh at us. We want to ensure that our referral hospitals are well equipped. There are very important features which make us to refer to a hospital as national hospital. First, we must have infrastructure that is modern ... view
  • 27 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Our medical practitioners should use modern technology when treating various diseases. Even now, we still use old methods of treatment in our referral hospitals. Even for the records, you can visit them severally and keep writing your name because there is absence of information flow. It is good to have a good record keeping system of your illness. They are called referral hospitals because when you go there they already have information about your illness. They can treat you quickly without manually starting to look for your name. view
  • 27 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Some of our national hospitals require land for expansion because they have been in small spaces for over 30 years. How can they expand infrastructure without land? I want to urge just like the Committee’s recommendations that our referral hospitals should have bigger land so that they can accommodate new infrastructure. view
  • 27 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I support. Thank you. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for allowing me to also contribute to the President’s Address to the nation. First of all, our President met his obligation of reporting the progress of the nation to Parliament as per Article 132 of the Constitution. The President made us get assurance that this country is stable. In his opening remarks, he stated very clearly that the state of our nation is strong. When you hear such kind of words from the leader, you feel you are secure in your own country; you feel like you can stay in this country. Even developers ... view
