  • 30 Nov 2016 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I can see the Vice Chairperson of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations who was eloquently handling the same matter last time is present. view
  • 30 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, last week, you had directed the Vice Chairperson to take this statement seriously and respond to it today after she had excused herself that she was unable to get it from the Ministry. How long will we entertain the Vice Chairperson of this honourable Committee? Yesterday, I was there and my people have been displaced. Therefore, I want to know what the Government has in store for us just like they had for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). view
  • 30 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish the Vice Chairperson would provide the answer tomorrow as directed. Any more stories after tomorrow will be disapproved. We will wait for tomorrow and then deal with it from there. view

  • 24 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.45(2)(b) to seek a statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations regarding the change of medical insurance cover for National Police and Kenya Prisons Services from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to AAR Insurance Kenya. In the Statement, the Chairperson should address the following:- (a) When was the change from NHIF to AAR Insurance Kenya effected? • 24 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Chair told me that they are unable to get the response. You had directed the statement to be issued today and this is the third time it is not being issued. Could the Vice Chairperson make attempts by all means to live by what she has said so that they issue the Statement next week? Any day next week will be okay. view
  • 24 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I join my colleagues in seeking clarification. I wonder how the Ministry is responding when they say suspects were on a motorbike. First, the Constitution of Kenya does not allow killing. Is it not logical that you can immobilize a motorbike than to kill the rider? Secondly, if you are on a motorbike, you cannot fight back. In addition, I have never heard where a senior officer takes moral responsibility and resigns because of a mess occasioned by junior officers. To us, it will be like a drama, if someone does so; as it is in the ... view

Consequently, the Senate Business Committee (SBC) will meet on Wednesday, 30th November, ... view
  • 10 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I also join you in welcoming and congratulating the delegations from the two county assemblies for choosing to come to the Senate to see how we do work for them. I would like to remind them that Senate does oversight and protects the interests of county governments and counties. Mr. Speaker, Sir, we are witnessing many county assemblies and county governments coming to see how the Senate and the National Assembly work. However, they have begun too late towards the end of the life of this Parliament. They should have begun early in 2013 or 2014. However, ... view
