3 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I believe we do not live in a banana republic. What the Assistant Minister has said and on which, hon. Karua rose on a point of order, was that the police are looking for âthugsâ to kill. They are not looking for those who are confronting or want to kill hon. Members. He says they are looking for thugs to kill. How can a Government look for thugs to kill?

3 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, as you will notice from the Assistant Ministerâs answer, the budgetary allocation was modestly reduced by about Kshs1.7 billion. Be that as it may be, why did the Ministry reduce the budgetary provisions for Rural Electrification Authority (REA) by 50 per cent? What led to the Ministry reducing the budget allocation to REA by 50 per cent, thereby denying rural areas the much needed energy?

2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I just want to inform the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government that concerning the issue that Mr. Sirat raised with regard to constituencies which were not visited and his is one of them, I think the Prime Minister did that because the Vice-President had visited there not long ago. I believe he assessed the drought situation in that constituency. But, unfortunately, instead of taking food, he just visited and then came back.

19 Jan 2011 in National Assembly:
I think the House should not have a problem with me calling my friend âa small manâ because that is how we refer to each other. That is why he has not complained.

19 Jan 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I recently visited his constituency and we had to leave the main road for about a 100 kilometres to avoid the bad state of the road. It is insecure to move in those unofficial roads. I would request the Minister to consider visiting it again because 2008 is far off, to ascertain that Kshs95 million will not do any meaningful work on that road.
