  • 27 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Bill has come at the right time. It has come at the right time because the Government has initiated many programmes for the youth. There is the Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF), creation of centres of excellence, polytechnics will be improved and others set ups. There is genuine concern about the future and welfare of the youth within the Government. I, therefore, want to support these proposals and volunteer some suggestions as to how the service to the youth could be improved. view
  • 27 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have had an occasion to discuss with the Minister about certain thoughts that I have. Environmental issues of growing concern in the world today include climate change, sustainable land management, pollution and waste management which constitute a direct threat to the quality of life particularly, among the poor. My Ministry will continue to effectively address these challenges through programmes and activities to be undertaken by the respective departments and parastatals that I have just mentioned.
