  • 16 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 16 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Minister says that Kshs8, 000 is given to farmers for compensation per animal. This is public money. Why can they not slaughter the animals in Wajir and get them processed for feed or something else? You could also have mass killings there instead of exposing the whole nation of Kenya to bad images of animals dying at Athi River. view
  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Public Service:- view
  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Minister for a very comprehensive answer. For the benefit of the hon. Members who have not gone through the list, the salaries range between Kshs213,000 per month to slightly over Kshs1 million depending on the Ministry. What I find odd, Mr. Speaker, Sir, with your indulgence, is that in 14 Ministries, the house allowances are higher than the salaries for those Permanent Secretaries. What informed the decision by this Ministry to pay house allowances higher than what they have stipulated at Kshs80, 000 and constantly pay over Kshs250,000? view
  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Minister inform the House why five Permanent Secretaries in other Ministries cannot earn what the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade earns? The salary in question is Kshs1,050,000 while the others earn Kshs213,000. So, he earns about five times what the other Permanent Secretaries earn. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish, with your indulgence, to congratulate the Assistant Minister for the last bit of his answer. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. When will the Assistant Minister demolish all the other illegal structures in other water ways falling under similar categories in Naivasha, Kirinyaga and other places? view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, while supporting the Vote, I would like to ask the Minister to consider seriously overhauling the attaches so that they can add value to agriculture. Not necessarily agricultural attaches but ambassadors should be people who will promote business of this nation and reduce on the burden of intelligence and insecurity. I beg to support. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, while supporting this Vote, it is, indeed, very frustrating having heard the grand plans that the Ministry has looking at its budget, it looks like we are reading from a completely different script. I would urge the Government to reconsider the initial thinking and finance it appropriately. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, while I support this Vote, I would like to urge the Government and, particularly, the Minister in that Ministry to think of re-organizing the Ministry so that he can do a better public relations job in terms of propelling Kenyans to think right and uphold the rule of law. He should make Kenyans know that Kenya is not a failed State and they need to follow the due process. I support. view
