As the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning, while considering the impact of these proposals on Kenyans, we agreed with the National Treasury. It is because there is need to raise more revenue to fund the various measures that are being taken by the Government, which is in line with what the President said. We have taken some action to ensure we safeguard both the revenue being raised and the welfare of Kenyans.
