Temporary Deputy Chairman, this clause is about taxation on hides and skins, which is majorly produced by the ASAL areas where there are animals. So, the proposal here is to delete the taxation which was being put on exports in order to encourage exportation of what is being produced. If exportation is hindered, it will affect farmers who will be throwing away their hides and skins instead of selling them to the factories that are currently established in Kenya. view
