  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads:- (a) whether he is aware that poor road design has been the cause of road accidents at the “black spot” at Salgaa/Sachangwan on the Nakuru-Eldoret road leading to loss of lives over the years; and, (b) what the Government is doing to improve the design of the road along this stretch in order to guarantee the safety of road users. view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I concur with the Assistant Minister’s answer, but considering the section from Salgaa all the way to Kifunja, I do not really agree with him that the accidents are not caused by poor design. Those people who have been using that road will agree with me that the stretch between Salgaa and Kifunja needs to be re-designed, even if it means erecting some bumps so that vehicles can reduce the speed at which they move on that stretch. Currently, when heavy trucks drive down from Kifunja to Salgaa, they tend to over-speed. So, could the Assistant ... view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I remember putting a request to the Minister sometime back about the road from Narok to Pipeline, and he promised me that it would be gravelled but so far, nothing has been done on it. Therefore, I request the Assistant Minister to assure this House once more that that road has not been forgotten. view
  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. While I thank the Prime Minister for addressing this important issue to the nation, I would like him to confirm whether there is any relationship between the pirates who were arrested and arraigned in Kenyan courts--- Could they be retaliating for being arrested and that is why there are attacks in the Kenyan territory? view
  • 15 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. As I concur with my fellow colleagues, I think it is very important for us as a House and MPs to get clarification from the Government. I remember sometime last year, I issued a press statement enquiring whether we are a sovereign state or we are one of the many states from one of those powerful nations. I remember in my constituency, there are some people who went there masquerading as leaders or foreigners who had gone there and they did not want any leader appointed or Government officers to know what they were ... view
  • 7 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I congratulate the Assistant Minister for answering this Question and catering for the few IDPS he has catered for. It is very painful--- view
  • 7 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while I thank the Assistant Minister for catering for the few IDPs that he has mentioned, you will realize that these IDPs have been outside their country for over three years. It is very painful to know that these people sought refuge in Uganda to escape what was happening in Kenya. I believe that it is a cardinal obligation and duty for any Government to protect the lives and properties of its citizens. I would like to request him to liaise with the relevant Commissions and make sure that the few IDPs who are still languishing in ... view
  • 7 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while trying to appreciate the Government’s efforts in resettling the IDPs, I request the Assistant Minister to generally talk about all the IDPs and not necessarily those who are in Uganda currently. When does the Government intend to make sure that they have been resettled or they have been returned to where they came from? view
  • 18 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that a group of more than 400 people demonstrated against plans to resettle Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) on a piece of land acquired by the Government at Tipis Center in Mau-Narok Division of Njoro District on 6th November, 2010? (b) Is he also aware that the same group has planned to sabotage the ongoing survey process on the land earmarked for resettlement of the IDPs? (c) What steps has he ... view
  • 18 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am not satisfied. This Question falls under his Ministry because it is his Ministry which is supposed to provide security. view
