  • 25 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support this Motion. When this Authority was formed, it had a purpose and it was given a timeframe. Its terms and mandate were well stipulated. When it was formed, it started its mandate. They have been doing their work until it reached a point when they felt that there was a need. They had not completed their work. They requested for extension of time so that they could complete whatever they had been assigned to do. The Government granted the extension. During that extension period, they were supposed to burn the midnight oil ... view
  • 25 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: So, I agree with this Report and request that we rest it there. Let the IGRTC take over the role that is remaining. This is so that we do not overburden the Government by adding extra budgets and yet there are other areas in the Government that need more funding. Thank you. I support. view
  • 17 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also rise to support this Motion of the nominees. I hope these people have been well vetted. The Chairman of this Committee has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that they are Kenyans worth this noble docket. We trust and hope they are ready to tackle the assignment we have given them. This is a very noble and sensitive docket. Everybody in Kenya is complaining about corruption. Corruption in Kenya is an epidemic. If we do not eradicate it and if we do not have serious patriotic and committed Kenyans to deal with it, it is ... view
  • 16 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Bill. The Bill has come at the right time. As Members of Parliament, it is important that we look at it thoroughly because natural resources are God-given. It is upon us to protect and maintain them well. • 16 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I hope that many will people support me. It is true that those resources have been exploited and used by some foreigners. It is good for them to come and educate us on how to mine. Unfortunately, once they come here, instead of educating our people, they manipulate us and we become their slaves. We have many natural resources such as oil, precious stones, gases and even gold. Those resources are there for our benefit. As a Government, we are supposed to set good rules and regulations on how they are supposed to be mined and ... view
  • 16 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: I support this Bill with those reservations. Let us go back and try to reason as Africans and take advantage of ourselves. We have a lot of markets within ourselves. Now, we have the knowledge. It is not like during those old days when we did not have the knowledge or the skill. Let us utilise the skills that we got from the whites to the maximum. I support the Bill. Thank you. view
  • 3 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also want to support this Motion. After going through it, I have seen that there are a lot of things that we have already passed. In this House, we have passed many rules. I urge Members to try and The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 3 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: make a follow up and make sure that whatever law we have enacted is implemented. We, Kenyans are very good in making laws but, when it comes to their implementation stage, it does not work very well. Hon. Speaker, remember how people have been talking about the four Asian Tigers who have free trade. We were the ones who started free trade but when it came to its implementation stage, we were unable to move forward. For that reason, I support this Bill. However, we also need to be very careful and have a common stand as a nation on ... view
  • 2 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also rise to support this Motion. This Motion is very timely. I want to thank the Mover of this Motion. As human beings, when we were born or brought to this world, it was well balanced but due to our negligence and greed, we have changed everything. That is why we are struggling to change our climate. During the old days we had a lot of forests and a good environment, but we have destroyed them. I can give an example. Where I come from; Njoro Constituency of the larger Molo, we used ... view
  • 19 Nov 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also want to support this Bill. As I do so, I have some reservations but I am supporting it in the sense that we shall define various boundaries and specific areas where we shall have specific developments and infrastructure. I hope from the outset we shall set aside public land, community land and private land. For public land, we should demarcate very clearly the boundaries of our forests, national parks and settlement areas. Why am I saying this? If these things are not looked into--- We have seen many people who are purporting to ... view
