  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is very important that this august House understands the predicament I am in as the Assistant Minister, Ministry of State for Defence, because these soldiers were taking re-supplies to our troops in Wajir County. We have permanent military bases in Wajir and Mandera where we patrol the border. The hon. Members should not ask me to tell them exactly how we deploy our soldiers at our border on the Floor of this House. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the injuries on Haji were not caused by bullets. We, however, cannot speculate on the situation of the two missing soldiers. We are still investigating. This is what I have said. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, under the international law, if we cannot find the two soldiers after six years, we will declare them dead. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support this very important Motion. In doing so I want, first of all, to congratulate the gallant citizens of this country who brought honor and respect to Kenya at Daegu, South Korea. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, apart from the heroes who have just come home, we have other heroes in the persons of Kipchoge Keino, Paul Tergat, David Rudisha, Robert Ouko, Tanui and very many others. These are people who have kept the name of Kenya at the top of the world. I would like to propose ... view
  • 30 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to support this very important Vote. First, let me commend the Minister and the staff of the Ministry for working very hard to bring this Motion. It is very important and good to know that a healthy nation is a secure nation. The two Ministries which deal with the health of the nation require to be funded, in my view, more than the Ministry of Education. This is because a healthy nation is a secure nation. Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, if we build a medical centre of excellence it will produce qualified personnel who ... view

  • 26 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: It is my time to speak and I am saying that for this country to get on the right path, we have to punish people. We do not have to bring people who are thieves to Parliament as law-makers after five years. Let us make it ten years so that by the time it lapses he or she would not be fit to be elected. view

  • 24 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister. This is a very progressive Bill. It will cure all the ills and mismanagement of our urban areas and cities. The county government will be required to employ qualified planners who will plan our cities properly, and based on available resources. You cannot have a city depending on ponds. We need cities which have enough reservoirs of water. We will need proper managers and planners when we come to county governments; these will be in charge of our urban centres in our country. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, you ... view
  • 17 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I apologise for coming late. In fact, I have just come from my constituency. I did not know that this Question was on the Order Paper. view
