  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me the chance to contribute to this very important debate. I would like to oppose the Motion for one reason. view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: This particular issue will remind us what happened in 2007/2008. Many Kenyans do not want to open this can of worms. You have heard what Hon. Jakoyo Midiwo has said. It has started to activate the country to where it was in 2007. From this debate, it is very clear that the Waki Report is based on fake evidence. Why do we want to open fake evidence – evidence which does not have material facts? The proposed Select Committee will be trying to analyse the Waki Report for us. We can read the Report on our own, debate it and ... view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: So, let us get the recommendations and continue. Actually, one of the recommendations of the Kriegler Report was that we should embrace ICT in the elections, which we implemented. If we want to do something at this particular time, we should implement what was recommended. I wish we are going to the recommendations to see whether it is possible to implement some of them, instead of going that direction. view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Suppose we open this can of worms and some people in the country take it in the affirmative, that what was said in the Waki Report is true, what will we be telling Kenyans? For how long are we going to take our country emotionally in a political sense? This is not the right time to open the Waki Report again. It is past tense. Remember even in the Bible there is a woman who was told that if she looks back, she will become a pillar of salt. She became a pillar of salt. It is in the Bible ... view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: I also want to reiterate what is going on in the country. You remember what Hon. Kuria said about coaching witnesses; the fake witnesses. If they are fake, why do we want to open something that is based on fake witnesses? What will we be achieving for the country? Do we want to tell the country that we want to discuss something that is fake? That is not the right way to go. You have heard what Hon. Jakoyo has said. We want to interrogate what the National Intelligence Service (NIS) was doing at that time, which cannot be now. view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I want to oppose this Motion. Let us forget the past and continue. That is the way forward in this country. I beg to oppose. view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I support the deletion of that clause because we do not want to gag the media as it is good in giving information which is good for development, reduction of corruption and for public participation. It is through the media that the public can participate in this case. view
  • 7 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I want to oppose this amendment. The reason is that if you delete that word “youth” and replace it with “Kenyans” then the whole meaning of the Bill will change. This is because the authority we want to create is for the youth. I think the whole document will lose meaning. view
  • 20 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. First, I want to thank Hon. Kaluma for giving me this chance and also for bringing a very good constitutional amendment. We have emerging issues in the country. There are these human rights. Maybe that is what people do not understand. Every time there is something that goes on, somebody would rush to court and ask the court to intervene. Currently, you hear somebody causes an accident, like Pastor Ng’ang’a’s case, and that person wants to go to court to prevail upon it not to take action. If the judge, for example, is corrupt ... view
