  • 12 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: It is as simple as logic. If you want to construct a house and you buy materials like cement, sand, ballast and may be roofing nails and you give a fundi without supervising as the owner of the house, then go after a year to check whether the house is complete, most likely you will find everything was misappropriated. It is possible the house has not been built beyond the foundation level and you will have yourself to blame. If we do not empower the Office of the Auditor-General, then as a country we will not develop the way we ... view
  • 12 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, you have travelled. We have all travelled as hon. Members and if you go to a country that is developed, you will see the sense and impact of a government. If you go to a country that is not developed, you will see the government is not doing anything because there is a lot of wastage. So if we put those controls properly, then the entire country will develop. view
  • 12 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I support this Bill. view
  • 10 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I want to also take this opportunity to convey my condolences to the family, friends and members of Kabete Constituency for the loss of their Member of Parliament. I knew hon. Muchai as a very articulate debater in this Parliament. He was sitting near where we are sitting. I knew him as a trade unionist and a very refined Member of Parliament. He met his death in a very bad way and this is pure assassination. I would request the Government to make sure that it apprehends the people who did that because it is the ... view
  • 10 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Kenyans as usual have a habit of forgetting very soon after an episode. We would like, as hon. Members, to keep this fire burning until we get the person who killed hon. Muchai and other hon. Members who have lost their lives through the same method. As hon. Members, we are not very secure because many of us have been threatened and when we report to the police, they do not investigate. It is high time they investigate all the cases of hon. Members who have shown concern as far as their security is concerned. view
  • 10 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, we are trying to fight corruption in our areas and you know corruption--- view
  • 12 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs regarding the non- payment of suppliers who provided the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) with catering, stationery and printing services during the last general election. view
  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I take this opportunity to thank the Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee for giving me this opportunity. I want to say that the work the Mediation Committee was very good. But entirely, I want to let my feelings be known by this country that we have to check the budget process and consider that we have to remain united as a country. If we give a lot of money to the counties, most likely the central Government will never hold them. If you give more resources, you have to be very careful ... view
  • 25 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: I want to seek a clarification on whether it is true that KenGen is owned 100 per cent by the Government, knowing that there is a time the shares were floated and Kenyans bought them. Two, I want to know why KenGen has moved from where they are investing to Ngong Hills and started investing without involving the community, leaders and stakeholders in the area. view
