  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: be renovated and equipped with modern equipment, so that our people can be taken care of as far as their health is concerned. view
  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: This being one of the Big Four Agenda of the President, we should put a lot of effort and interest in hospitals, especially referral hospitals. The Level 3, 4 and 5 hospitals should also be equipped and personnel like doctors and nurses employed to decongest a referral hospital like KNH. For example, in my constituency, people are referred to Machakos Level 5 Hospital. When they reach there, they are referred to KNH. If all the constituencies refer people to KNH, then there will be no space and doctors to treat them. Levels 3 and 4 hospitals in the constituencies should ... view
  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: If county governments can take the issue of health seriously, the national Government can take care of referral hospitals. We have strikes in our hospitals every day. I have seen as I am seated here that some nurses and doctors have said that they will call a strike because they have not been paid for some time. They are not taken care of. This should be a thing of the past in a progressive country like Kenya. We need to take care of our hospitals because people are dying in our constituencies due to lack of medical care. They are ... view

  • 25 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this time to air my views on this Bill. The Nuclear Regulatory Bill is for the future. Our country is progressive and we are moving in the right direction as far as development is concerned. It will reach a time when the power that we are using today will not be enough for our industries and homesteads in the country. • 25 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: and tap into cheaper, reliable power that is not cut off all the time. When you are running an expensive factory and power comes and goes, you have to run generators, which eat into your profits. We need this Bill so that we are set. In future, when we will be ready to put up such plants, the Bill will be there to protect investors and employees who will be working there. Therefore, I support the Bill. view
  • 25 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: You have heard that once you start a nuclear plant, it takes about 18 months before you even stop it for maintenance or anything else, even to change a consumption item. Therefore, it is a very reliable source of power. Kenya needs to go that direction. view
  • 25 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rest my case. I support the Bill. view
  • 8 May 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I was wondering why you were not seeing us on this side. view
  • 8 May 2019 in National Assembly: Our cards are inserted. The Mheshimiwa for Gatanga is trying to say that contracts or tenders have a deadline of evaluation. You cannot evaluate tenders forever because they expire. He is saying that the time should be limited because it might expire before it is awarded. He is trying to shorten the time. Even if it is not 14 days, it should be shortened so that he does not evaluate after it has been evaluated. view
