  • 5 Aug 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, there is a requirement that counties must employ a certain percentage of people from outside their counties. It is now becoming necessary for us to hear from some of the counties that have been complaining in the past to see how they are performing on that particular requirement. If these statistics are used positively, they will start correcting some of those thinkings. Therefore, I urge our fellow Kenyans, and especially those in this Parliament, that whenever a Motion is brought on the Floor of the House, let us look at it in a very sober manner. ... view

I also take this chance to congratulate the new Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Finance and Planning, Hon. (Ms.) Gladys Wanga, whom we are sure is equal to the task. This particular initiative comes at the right time. It is overdue in this country. We have been talking about supporting businesses in order to grow the economy.   • 28 Jul 2020 in National Assembly: Finally, we also hope that the Government is going to borrow from some of the development partners in this country who have been practising credit financing especially in the farming area. I am aware that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been providing credit guarantees to banks so that they can lend to farmers. I hope this can continue. I support the Bill. This is a very important initiative. view
