Finally, we also hope that the Government is going to borrow from some of the development partners in this country who have been practising credit financing especially in the farming area. I am aware that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been providing credit guarantees to banks so that they can lend to farmers. I hope this can continue. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to contribute to the Refugees Bill. From the outset, I want to state that I am a Member of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. We visited most of our refugee camps for us to come up with these proposals. For that reason, I want to congratulate him and welcome him to this challenging position. Let me also congratulate Hon. Duale for the good work he has done in the last three years I have been in this Parliament. As a newcomer, I interacted with him a lot. The people of Mwea will forever be grateful for the way we worked with him in the repeal of ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker, I support the re-committal. This House must recognise that as we move into the unknowns of COVID-19, there will be short- term measures that we must keep making in this House. Otherwise, looking at 12 months, there will be so many things that will happen in between. The six months period will give us much information on what will happen and even the dynamics of COVID-19. I support.

For those of us who have experience in the international arena, we know that it is not easy to secure that kind of position.
