  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I am not sure how to do this without my microphone working. My microphone on the other side is not working and that is where my Question is. Hon. Deputy Speaker, before I ask my Question, let me once again recognise the presence of Gathigiriri Secondary School. This is one of the best performing schools in Mwea Constituency. view
  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, but it is also good to know that these are products of farmers who produce the best rice in Africa. I think it is good for you to know that. Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Health the following Question: (a) Could the Cabinet Secretary state the current status of the construction of the Wamumu Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) building facility in Mwea Constituency? (b) Could he provide details of the company awarded the project, construction commencement date, scope of works, the range of services to be offered once ... view
  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: I want to confirm that I was here at exactly 9.00 a.m. I had also come to attend to my Question. So, the Hon. Member is out of order. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this amendment Bill by my good friend Hon. Wakapee from Juja Constituency. It is coming at the right time when many Kenyans are suffering because of banks wanting to go for guarantor as the first charge. What this Bill is simply saying is that the borrower and the properties or collaterals presented by the borrower should serve as the first charge. ... view
  • 19 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this very important Motion from my friend Hon. Osoro. Some Motions look simple but this one is very important. The Motion will help it reach out to as many people in this country as possible. We are talking about introducing a curriculum in our primary and secondary schools at very early stages, skills on driving or awareness on road safety. This will help a lot. I borrow a leaf from technology. Our children should be made aware about technology from early stages. We are now starting to get gurus in technology in this country. We have even started to export some ... view
  • 19 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: operators to acquire comprehensive insurance, we will create a fund that will subsidise them to have this insurance at a cheaper rate so that all can be covered. If we do this, we will save a lot of funds for this economy. I support this Motion. Thank you. view
  • 18 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me a chance to comment on this very important Petition. I want to agree with the speaker who has spoken before me that we need to look at this hardship demarcation afresh. We realise that the zoning of hardship areas was done some time ago. There are some areas that fall within constituencies that may not be seen as hardship areas, but within them are very critical hardship areas. In Mwea Constituency which I represent, I have areas called South Ngariama and Wamumu which could pass for hardship areas. In that respect, I would ... view
  • 11 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Report. As I support, I want to declare, from the outset, that I am still a student of the budget and the budget-making process. I have had time to go through this Budget. I do not want to dwell on the fact that what we see and what we have heard about the supplementary is as a result of a mismatch between expenditure and revenue. I do not want to dwell on that. However, I have made an observation that there is a deduction by 4.2 per cent in ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me a chance to support the President in his State of the Nation Address. The President set the agenda. He means well for this country. Listening to that Speech, one could clearly see the passion the President had in seeing a better country and that he leaves this country in a better state. view
