  • 18 Nov 2015 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Is it in order for the Member to bring rumours in here, which he cannot substantiate? He has insinuated that the money that was got from the Eurobond was misused while the CS for the National Treasury has been summoned to appear before a Committee of this House and explained how the Eurobond was used to the last penny. Is it in order for the Member to insinuate that sugar is being smuggled without substantiating and bringing evidence to this House? I would urge him to substantiate his statement. view

  • 15 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Bill, which will go a long way in fulfilling our requirement in relation to Article 164 of the Constitution. It is the responsibility we have to execute. • 15 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Going through the Bill, it is very clear that it provides a medium through which judges will be able to come together, make their decisions together, consult freely and work harmoniously. It is a good Bill. I am saying this because we have had a court system where cases are known to last forever, especially land cases. I know some cases which were filed in the early 1970s and to date they are yet to be mediated upon. With this Bill, our court system will be much faster and many cases will be executed within the required time. Part II ... view
  • 23 Jun 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. The people who have the right to audit the policy objectives are the people of Kenya. When political parties go out there and do their campaigns, they sell their policies to the public. When the public audits these objectives and they find that they are right, then they vote in the Government. The work of the Auditor-General is clearly defined as that of looking into the accounts of the different bodies that are under the Constitution, our courts, our county governments and the rest. However, auditing policies is the work of the public. If ... view

  • 30 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. They say that rest rejuvenates the body. We have been working here for some time and have passed many Bills. This is a deserved rest. After we rest, we will come back refreshed. Kenyans are looking for leadership in this House. We are the ones who will show our people the direction that we want to move to. There have been very many confrontations. During this Session, there was commotion in this House and this should never be repeated. This did not send the right message to the people. ... view
