  • 16 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, may I know what further steps the Minister is going to take to ensure that the board is also representative? Because you would know that, of course, the New KCC Factory in Sotik, Bomet County, is the largest milk producer from that area and, yet, in the board, we are not represented. So, what is the Minister going to do to make sure that we are also represented in the board? view
  • 8 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Education whether he could provide a progress report of all the projects undertaken by the Ministry through the Economic Stimulus Programme in Konoin Constituency. view
  • 8 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while appreciating the answer from the Assistant Minister, I would like to inform him that probably he got the response slightly a month ago. The situation has actually changed and most of the projects are almost complete. However, there is an issue he has raised about the difficulty by the District Education Officer (DEO) to supervise these projects. One of the problems is lack of transport. Has the Ministry given the DEO funds to hire vehicles to monitor the Economic Stimulus Programmes (ESP)? view
  • 8 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is apparent now that the ESP projects appear to have good success; but there are those projects which were funded through the Kenya Education Sector Support Programme (KESSP) which have stalled. What is the Ministry doing to ensure that those projects are completed? view

  • 3 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that out of the Kshs3.5 billion they had been allocated by Treasury, they still have a balance of Kshs2.5 billion and yet this is supposed to be a continuous programme. What happened with the Ministry? In the South Rift region, it is now planting time and yet fertilizers’ prices are going up. view
  • 19 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Education whether he could provide a progress report of all the projects undertaken by the Ministry through the “Economic Stimulus Programme” in Konoin Constituency. view
  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am just following up what hon. Keter has stated; that the Members of the Committee have raised very serious comments about the procedure of coming up with this report. Now that we are sure that there was no agreement within the Committee and allegations have been raised that the Committee was run as a one-man show, is it in order for us to continue taking Parliament’s time debating a report that was not generated by the entire Committee? Would it not be in order for the report to be withdrawn? Probably, we should ask the ... view
  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Listening to the contributions which are taking place, they are just repetitions of what other hon. Members have contributed. Would I be in order to move that the Mover be now called upon to reply? view
  • 15 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Lands:- (a) whether he could state the land lease period remaining for the foreign owned tea estates owned by Unilever Tea (K) Ltd., George Williamson and James Finlays (K) Ltd. in Kericho; (b) what measures he is putting in place to ensure that the local community benefits from the properties on expiry of the leasehold periods; and (c) what measures he has taken to ensure that the people living in Chepchapas Village, who originally lived in the area owned by James Finlays Ltd., will benefit from the intended disposal of Bondet and Chemamul Tea Estates. view
