  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I stand to support this important Motion and I thank Mr. Ethuro for bringing the Motion. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: I support it because some of us have been in areas where we have had conflict after conflict over the years. AMANI Forum is one that if empowered and recognized would come and bring remedies in some of the areas that have had a lot of conflicts. Peace meetings that are held in some of the places involving PCs, DCs and politicians have not borne any fruits. The PCs and DCs sometimes bring people together and make them shake hands only to clash and fight on the way home. That is an indication that those meetings are not bearing any ... view
  • 4 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you very much Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker for allowing me to contribute to the Vote on this very important Ministry in our land. view
  • 4 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: When we talk about land in Kenya, we are talking about settlement of the very poor Kenyans among us. We are also talking about worthiness of land. Without land in our country, somebody feels that he is not worth anything. Also, at the end of life, somebody with a piece of land will be laid to rest on his land. Therefore, land is very important in this country. I would like to congratulate the Minister, the PS and their team addressing land issues in this country. I am happy that they have been able to address corruption in their Ministry. ... view

  • 28 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister tell us what measures he is going to take so that there is no intrusion that leads to the same struggle again? The trend is that pastoralists move left and right, north and south and when it rains or there is good grass, they settle there. That is what happened in Lorogon and Kapedo. The Turkanas settled there after some calamity struck the other side. So, what measures is the Ministry taking so that this trend does not take us through the circle, again and again? view
  • 28 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, for allowing me a chance to contribute to this very important topic. It is obvious, as shared before by other hon. Members, that a healthy nation is a nation that will perform to the expectations of the citizens. Generally, it will be an energized nation. I will say that for us to perform in academics, we need to have a healthy nation. For us to perform in other areas like agriculture and even move powerful bulldozers around, we need to have a healthy nation. That is why I support and concur with ... view

  • 21 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the Minister tell us how long it takes the Ministry to have people working as casuals? I am told that in Kishaunet – a project that is under the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) – people have been working there for ten years without being employed on permanent terms, and that people are transferred from elsewhere to go and work there on permanent and pensionable terms, but the locals are not employed on such terms. view
  • 12 May 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I also concur with my colleagues in supporting the extension of the mandate of the Parliamentary Select Committee on the Activities of Unlawful Organizations. In my view, I feel that the Government has lost the nerve of getting down into the root cause of these issues. I say so because for the Government to hear what her citizens are going through and yet give a deaf ear, really makes the whole system of governance really questionable. The Government does not seem to be concerned when a tragedy has befallen people somewhere. The Government ... view
