Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the Petition. The youth in our country feel marginalised, especially on the aspect of empowerment. It will be good for our country to do something to give the youth the power, strength and the ability to perform.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I rise to support the amendment by the Chairman. It is prudent that we include the CoG in the Board because we are doing this business in the counties.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. The Constitution provides that the people of this country have a right to access information. If this amendment limits access to information, then I will oppose it. Unless Hon. Kiptanui explains in detail why we need it, I will oppose it. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor.

Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. On behalf of the people of Sigowet/Soin Constituency, I condole with the family of former President Kibaki, the people of Nyeri and, indeed, the whole nation of Kenya. Mama Lucy Kibaki was a great personality and the contribution that she made in the society was immense. In particular, was her contribution to the education of the girl-child, the under-privileged and the weak in the society. Thank you, Hon. Speaker.

Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I do not come from Busia neither do I come from Western Kenya. Hon. Deputy Speaker, I want to join my colleagues in saying that land matters are quite sensitive and we should not procrastinate them. We should expedite these issues. The Committee on Implementation should be the right organ to follow up the matter and any issue raised in Parliament should not be an exercise in futility. We need a speedy resolution on this matter.

Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this chance. I rise in support of the Petition by Hon. Karithi. Some of us who have interest in posting of teachers to hardship areas need to be called by the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology when they are interrogating TSC and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Parts of Soin Division are classified as hardship areas and within those hardship areas, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has unilaterally decided that some schools are not hardship areas while those which are neighbouring are hardship areas. We would wish----
